Privacy

Solver Society is designed to be a safe learning environment for students in grades 8–12. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. We keep things simple: students never need accounts, never need to share personal information, and never encounter advertising trackers.

Students: no account, no personal information required

All student-facing content — Lessons, Missions, the Glossary, and the Challenge Lab — works without creating an account, without providing an email address, and without sharing any personal details.

We do not ask students for:

  • Name
  • Age
  • School
  • Grade
  • Email address
  • Photos
  • Contact information

We do not create student profiles, track student behavior across sites, or use advertising cookies. Students can use the entire site anonymously.

Adults: what happens when you sign up

Certain optional features, such as the Monthly Mascot Pack, educator early access, the book waitlist, and occasional Solver Society updates, are intended for parents, guardians, and educators, not students.

If you choose to sign up, we collect your first name and email address. We do not collect addresses, phone numbers, demographic details, or any other personal information.

Email service provider. Signup forms are operated by MailerLite, which stores the email list on our behalf. When a page containing a signup form loads, MailerLite places an anonymous identifier in your browser to determine whether a form has already been shown or submitted. This identifier does not contain your name, email, or any personal details.

We use your information solely to send:

  • Monthly Mascot Packs
  • The educator early-access link, if you signed up on the Educator page
  • Occasional Solver Society news
  • The single book-release notification you requested

We never sell, rent, or share the email list with advertisers or data brokers. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Solver Squad Elite and YouTube participation

Students who complete the Friday Boss Battle may be recognized on the Elite wall and mentioned in Monday’s video. We publish the YouTube handle as it appears. If a handle seems to include a full name, we only display what appears to be the first name — never schools, photos, or contact details.

Entries are submitted through YouTube comments, which are public and governed by Google’s privacy policy, not ours. We do not verify the identity or age of whoever posts a comment, so please do not include your child’s full name, school, or any identifying detail when submitting an entry.

If you prefer that a first name not be published, or you want it removed later, email us and we will remove it promptly — no explanation required.

What stays in your browser

Aside from the anonymous MailerLite identifier described above, the site stores one small item, and only for teachers. If you open the educator early-access link, the site sets a cookie that remembers that link on your device for 60 days, so Mission Packs open without it each time. The cookie holds the access code only — no name, email, or other personal details — and is not used for tracking.

Nothing else is stored in your browser. We do not use cookies or local storage to track behavior or identify users.

Clearing your browser data removes anything that was stored.

Downloads

Missions are standard PDF files. Downloading a Mission:

  • Does not require an account
  • Does not require an email address
  • Does not trigger tracking pixels, and PDF downloads are not counted in our visitor statistics

Some Missions unlock on a schedule, but this timing is based on the site’s release calendar — not on identifying who you are.

Other services we use

To operate the site, we rely on a small number of third-party services:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and processes standard server logs (IP address, browser type, date and time of request). These logs are used for security and performance, not for advertising.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us anonymous visitor statistics, such as page views, which page linked here, and the general type of device and country. It uses no cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint or follow individual visitors.
  • Google Fonts provides typefaces. Your browser requests font files from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
  • MailerLite manages our three adult-only signup forms (Monthly Mascot Pack, educator early access, and the book waitlist) and stores email subscriptions on our behalf.
  • YouTube hosts lesson videos. Clicking a video or link takes you to YouTube, which is governed by Google’s privacy practices.

We do not use:

  • Google Analytics
  • Advertising networks
  • Cross-site tracking technologies
  • Behavioral profiling tools

If we ever add another service that collects visitor information, we will update this page before enabling it.

Your rights and choices

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it. You can also:

  • Ask what information we hold about you
  • Request correction of your information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Request removal of a first name from the Elite wall

Email us at solversquadelite@gmail.com and we will honor your request promptly.

How we protect your privacy

We collect as little information as possible, store only what is needed, and give families full control. We do not track students, do not use advertising networks, and do not build profiles. Signup forms are for adults only, and we use your details solely to send what you asked for.

We limit collection to the minimum needed, rely on reputable processors (Cloudflare, MailerLite) who maintain their own security programs, and do not store any sensitive personal data on this site. While no digital system is entirely immune to risk, we reduce exposure by using reputable providers and conservative data practices to safeguard the limited information we hold.

If you ask us to delete anything — including a first name on the Elite wall — we do it. If we ever learn we have collected a child’s personal information, we delete it immediately.

Children’s privacy

Solver Society’s lessons are built for students in grades 8–12. The site is designed so that students can use every core feature — lessons, Missions, Glossary, and Challenge Lab — without providing any personal information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The email signup forms are for adults only. Please do not sign up if you are under 16 — ask a parent, guardian, or teacher to do it instead. If we learn that we hold personal information belonging to a child, we will delete it promptly. A parent or guardian who believes their child has submitted information to us may contact us at any time to review or request deletion of that information.

Policy changes

If we make a material change to this policy — such as adding a new data collection practice — we will post the update here with a new “Last updated” date before it takes effect, and where appropriate, note the change on the site’s home page.
